L 'Orphanage, d fter considerable renovation, comes to life with 25 orphans and a small community of nuns who took possession of the old convent on August 30, 1931. In an atmosphere of seclusion, which lasted until the '50s, the orphanage Antonio has welcomed hundreds of children from humble origins, mainly from central and southern Italy. From 1935 to 1981 the institute has worked out an elementary school equalized and, from 1960 to 1973, also attended a special school for disabled children in the area. The religious formation, starting to work through the teaching of specific women's work, education to taste through singing and drama were the key ingredients that have allowed generations of children to grow and refine their personalities away from poverty and neglect. From the '70s onwards, the continued decline in visitors and adaptation to new regional guidelines in the care sector, led to the final and necessary renovations of the premises were formally inaugurated on June 13, 2002. Currently, the property is entitled to receive up to a maximum of 12 children and, in a wing self-six mothers with their children. An internal team and an all-volunteer educational (Friends dell'Antoniano Padif) supports the work of nuns and local social services. The service of our club, through the efforts of President Robert Ruti of service, has served to raise money to donate, according to the Mother Superior of the Institute, 12 suits for children and 3 mothers hosted at 'internal structure. Thanks Magazzini Erregi for having made available to the suits at a price reduced by 50% and for providing a blanket of pure virgin wool double as a raffle prize inside the club that has served to raise the necessary funds to spend. Special thanks to Charles Bell, host of the evening, which sent major gifts to the orphanage Antonian.
