- Report to Congress: "Art Therapy and Health Promotion; Perugia 25-26 May 2002. INTEGRATED This paper aims to provide an example of application of art therapy in developmental . The example in question refers to a summer workshop sponsored by the School of the City of Terni and conducted by art therapists who are part of the Association of breadfruit, active since 2001 in the local area. The workshop included a total of 24 children aged between 4 and 10 years, including two children with mental and physical disabilities and two children with emotional and relational issues sent by the Health and Social Services of the Municipality of Terni. The workshop, held daily at the headquarters of the association for one month and a half, entitled "Good day and sweet dreams!" Was centered on the exploration and sharing dreams with open eyes of children. The methodology used is that of Integrated Therapies Arts involving the transition from mental images to the graphics that are tridimensianalizzate, through the use of clay, which are animated by the music-the voice-body, and then reconfigured via the mentally narrative. This methodology, which involved transformation of mental images into complex shapes, graphic-sound-plastic-body, and finally narrative made it possible to achieve three objectives: 1) The multi-sensory exploration of the imaginary world of children. 2) The construction of complex and metaphors about the meaning of identity and the relationship with the other 3) The construction of an emotionally cohesive group capable of functioning as a "container transformative 1) The multi-sensory exploration of the imaginary world of children. sharing of multi-sensory perceptual experiences each child approached the creative possibilities of the other, allowing everyone to be present and involved. The collective activity of painting with his hands is the first group ritual, full of surprise, attraction-repulsion. Dirty hands together to create shades of color on which to project mental images emotionally invested has the effect of moving children's attention on the quality product-process quality of handling emotional activity of clay, is full of excitement related to their ability to create-chew-attack-mend their ways until such time as there is reflected in them. The activity of musical improvisation involving children because it creates a sound environment, Gneral attractive, which stimulates the initiation of a story or reveal the intentions of a character chart or plastic. The activity of storytelling-drama is often used by children not only reconfigure-internalize a sense of fantastic shapes created in the laboratory, but also to manage relationships with real people of their everyday life (eg, history teacher burned) 2) The construction of complex metaphors and articulate the sense of identity and relationship with each other. So we have interpreted the "daydreams" of children characterized by the desire to possess such magical powers: the "cloak of invisibility" Herry Potter, the power to turn into a cartoon character, the power to give life or death. The activity of shooting digital video, already useful to document and monitor the performance of the laboratory, has become an interactive tool in the creative process offered to children. Through the use of digital effects that allow to take place, "real time", the composition and preparation of images, video recordings were made a few wishes of children who experienced both the boundary between reality and imagination, both real. 3) The construction of an emotionally cohesive group capable of functioning as a "container transformative, enriching respect to sensitivity and individual resources, compared with uncanny way of building relationships and working on the stereotypical side inhibited or aggressive side. The needs of integration and the dynamics of conflict, which emerged from time to time within group, were accepted and transformed into ritual games. For example: · The needs for care have created the ritual of swinging of each child in a blanket, supported by other members of the group, and the ritual of the "carriage ride" · The aggressive drives resulted in the ritual of "war and peace ", in which each child challenged in a duel with soft cushions a competitor, to regain the joy of being together.
